George Foreman Knock Out The Fat Review!

Just in time for the Holiday Grill Out Season, George Foreman is encouraging everyone to "Knock Out the Fat!" by sharing this new fat reduction claim:

New results of independent testing show that the George Foreman Grill removes up to 42% of fat from quarter-pound burgers made with 80/20 ground chuck beef, translating to a reduction of approximately 89 calories per burger!

To help get the word our, the amazing people at George Foreman sent select bloggers a George Foreman Healthy Cooking grill to test out. This thing is awesome!

Pros:
  • The plates are removable, and dishwasher safe
  • 72 SQ. Inches of cooking surface
  • 1" floating hinge to accommodate thicker cuts of meat
  • Patented slope that allows the fat to drain away while you cook
  • Drip tray holds 1 cup of liquid!!!

Cons:
  • No on/off switch

The day after Memorial Day, we decided to try some burgers on this grill! I hand made my patties so that I could adjust sizing portions per individual. The little ones had smaller burgers, big kids had thicker bun sized burgers, and the daddy...he had an even bigger burger!

Small patty, or large, this grill was able to accommodate 3 patties at all times! All burgers, no matter the size, cooked thoroughly. We cooked a total of 10 burgers. Made with 80 lean ground beef...I wish I had gotten a picture after the fat solidified, but here's what came from these 10 burgers!

The 1 cup capacity drip try ended up with less than 1/2 cm of room left in the tray! DISGUSTING!!!!!

The floating hinges rocked! It was nice to have a thicker burger that was cooked all the way through! No pink at all.

And even though all that fat drained out, each burger was still moist and delectable!

Last night we grilled Hotdogs...one of my kids favorites! The grill comfortably fist 10 dogs, though I could have fit another 2. One on each end!

After 14 hotdogs, our drip tray was far from clean! This is with all beef hotdogs. Normal run of the mill hotdogs produce a lot more drippings!

Knock Out the Fat!!!
