Lunchskins Review

School is out for summer here. For me, it's quite a relief. So many things that I don't have to do during summer break. One of which is making lunches before the sun rises. Worse yet, having to worry about what to do when I have 3 sandwiches, and only 1 plastic sandwich bag!

Did you know that over 20 million plastic sandwich bags end up in U.S. landfills every day? I had no clue! That's an absurd amount. Have no fear though! The creators of Lunchskins have found a solution!!

Made of food safe and dishwasher safe fabric, Lunchskins have created an attractive and fun alternative to plastic bags! These sensible bags come in many patterns and colors, and come in 3 different sized bags. Sandwich, snack, and sub size!

The way I figure it, there are between 180 and 220 school days per year. That is 180 - 220 sandwich bags and snack bags that I use in each of my kids lunches per year. At around $3 per box of 50 sandwich/snack bags, that comes out to over $24 in bags per child. $312 for 1 child, for a 13 year school duration.

I had 3 children attending school last year!

Lunchskins sandwich bags can be found for $8.95 per bag with snack bags costing $7.85. For less than $20 per child, I can make a 1 time purchase that is going to last them, possibly, as long as they are in school! Why spend more when you can save so much?!

Lunchskins have a velcro style enclosure. The hold is very secure, without being hard to open. My 4 year old has even tried to use our pouch as a purse!

Lunchskins are perfect for picnics, school and work lunches, even to organize your purse or diaper bag! Be sure to order some this summer! Whether it's to save money, or to live a greener life, this is one purchase you will not regret!
