Edible Turkeys 101

My kindergartner brought home THE cutest turkey Monday from school. Seeing how cute it was, and how easy it could be, we made some tonight! Yes, I know it's Black Friday...we are doing our Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow! So here it is, step by step, how to make the cutest edible turkey. You could even use this as a place setting by adding a name tag.

Things you need:

Cheerios/Fruit Loops
2-3 gum drops
1 candy corn
2 raisins
2-3 mini marshmallows

Directions:

Take your apple, and place 5 toothpicks in the apple like so:

Place Fruit Loops/Cheerios on the 5 toothpicks, leaving about 1 finger width of space at the top of the toothpick. These are your turkey's feathers!

Place marshmallows and  gumdrops on the top of the "feathers" alternating back and forth.

Place a toothpick 1/2 into the apple to create the head, and the large marshmallow onto the toothpick. No toothpick should be seen after marshmallow is placed.

Place the remaining 3 toothpicks on the underside of the turkey so that it can "stand" unsupported. I place 2 in the front, 1 in the back!

Place candy corn for the beak and raisins for the eyes.

Enjoy how cute this looks where ever you choose to show off your gobbler!!

You can even eat it!

These are adorable! I never ceased to be amazed at the creativity of others. I saw some other cute turkeys made out of frosting, candy corn, red hots, cookies and chocolate frosting.
